On July 20, 2021, Professor Adiel Teixeira de Almeida received, from Vice-Admiral Noriaki Wada, the medal “Friend of the Navy”. Created in 1966, the medal honors members of civilian and military society who have distinguished themselves in the work of spreading the maritime mentality, in the relationship with the Navy, in the defense of the Navy’s interests, and in the promotion of the importance of the sea for the country.
The award reinforces the recognition of the work done by Professor Adiel de Almeida and his team in contributing to the development of Brazilian institutions. In the case of this medal, it comes as a result of the actions developed under the INCT-INSID (National Institute of Information and Decision Systems – http://insid.org.br/), in its line of research related to National Defense.
