Professor Adiel Teixeira de Almeida, of PPGEP-UFPE (Graduate Program in Management Enineering of Federal University of Pernambuco), appeared on the list published by the international journal Plos Biology which lists the most influential scientists in the world. The database, published annually, is divided into two distinct rankings: the first deals with the impact of the researcher throughout his career; the second, addresses only a single year (in this case 2019). Professor Adiel de Almeida is one of the 10 professors from UFPE whose name appears on both lists.
According to the study, the database created makes available to the public a list of 100,000 names of leading scientists, providing standardized information on citations, h-index, hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, citations of articles in different positions of authorship and a composite indicator.
The presence of Professor Adiel Teixeira de Almeida in this database reveals not only his importance for PPGEP and UFPE, but also for Management Engineering in Brazil and worldwide.
