PPGEP receives Professor Keith W. Hipel, from University of Waterloo, Canada

Professor Keith W. Hipel, President of the Science Academy of Canada, Professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada, will present the lecture “The GMCR II Decision Support System in Negotiations over Groundwater Contamination” at the Newton Maia Auditorium, Technology Center And Geosciences (CTG) of UFPE. The event, promoted by the Management Engineering Postgraduate Program (PPGEP), will be tomorrow (13), at 3 p.m. In addition, the lectures “Fulfillment and Success in Research” and “How to Conduct Original Research in Graduate Studies”, given by Professor Keith W., will be held on Thursday 22 September at 10 a.m. at the Newton Maia Auditorium of CTG. Hipel. Both events are open to the public.

The lecture intents to present how the support system GMCR II can be applied to environmental negotiations. Dr. Keith W. Hipel coordinates the Conflict Analysis Group at the University of Waterloo in Canada. His main research interests are the development of conflict resolution, multicriteria decision analysis, time series analysis, and other decision-making methodologies. The Professor is the author and co-author of four books, 12 books edited, more than 295 scientific articles and several encyclopedic articles.
